My qualifying design for Chelsea 2012.

Here is a little peak at my design that I created for the south west heat to qualify to compete at Chelsea 2012.

We had to create a design that would fit around the criteria below

Design and construct an arrangement for the centre of a table at a formal dinner for UK competitors at the Olympic Games.

Fresh flowers/foliage and plant material must predominate.

The judges will be looking for a high standard of technical skill and design

I was really chuffed with the outcome receiving 91 out of a 100. This design was created from a cylinder of perspex and test tubes with a fine and delicate design on top.

Erica Tippett of bleujen Florist has won a silver gilt medal at the RHS young Chelsea Florist of the Year 2010. The annual competition is organised by the British Florist Association on behalf on the RHS

The schedule of The RHS Chelsea florist of the year competition at the 2010 rhs Chelsea flower show is to design and construct a fantasy parasol. the construction includes the framework of the parasol made by the competitor the diameter of the parasol must be over 50cm and no bigger than 1 metre.

To get this far we had to enter a funeral tribute for a keen gardener, the entries are regional entries so I entered at st mellion saltash. The 1st person who one would only go through from each region and unfortunately I came second so I didn’t think I got through but after a couple of months someone dropped out and I had the next highest points in the UK.

British Florist Association BFA Young Florist of the Year Competition.

Held at the Paragon Hotel in Birmingham, during BFA FleurEx. The BBC were on hand and filmed each competitor, as the winning competitor will be filmed throughout the build up to EuroFleurs 2010 next July. See the bottom of the page for more images. The competition had five sections: Handbag, Free Expression, Table Arrangement, Hand Tied Bouquet, Overall Display.

The winners of each section were:

Handbag – Joe Massie
Free Expression – Erica Tippett
Table Arrangement – Lauren Curry
Hand Tied bouquet – Joe Massie
Overall Display – Erica Tippett
